This scholarship was established by Beta Sigma Brother Joe Caldarella and his wife Janet in honor of Joe's father, Salvatore, who faced many of the same difficulties in college as our founding Alpha Phi Delta brothers did in 1914 at Syracuse.  

Joe was inducted in 1973 and served as chapter president, Brooklyn Alumni Club president and long time player/ manager of the famous BAC softball team.  He is currently a Director of the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation, the architect of the APD Cares program and a silver member of the Omega Society. Joe retired in 2018 after a 39 year career at Bristol-Myers Squibb, serving as the Company's Controller for his last 12 years.
