The Scholarship Fund is a division of Alpha Phi Delta Foundation Inc. a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Scholarship funds are maintained separately from the general funds of the foundation. In order to support an annual scholarship a fund must have received gifts of at least $10,000.00.

 

The Scholarship trustees are Richard Angelica, Anthony Barbieri, Dr. Santo Barbarino, Paul Fabrizio, Charles Fiore, Esq. (Chairman), Peter Gaudiuso (Treasurer), John Hadgkiss, Leon Panella, Ronald Sme and Anthony Thomas.


Alpha Phi Delta Award ($2,500) - Established by the Scholarship Trustees in honor of all of the members of Alpha Phi Delta who have donated so generously to scholarship.

Joel Tejada

3.80 Grade Point Average at La Salle University where he earned a double major in Italian and Spanish. He served as President, Pledge Master and Philanthropy Chair of his chapter. He is the oldest of four children who was raised by his single mother. He has volunteered at the New Jersey Aquatic Science Academy for eight years where he developed a website designed to train volunteers and a data base for the youth mentoring program which serves children from Camden New Jersey. Joel is now attending the University of Kent in the United Kingdom where he is seeking a Masters Degree in Comparative Literature. His career goal is to be a professor of foreign language at the university level.

Anthony Carfang Award ($2,500) - Established by 36th National President and Centennial Chairman, Anthony Carfang. Anthony has served for over thirty-five consecutive years as a Scholarship Trustee and a Foundation Director. He is the all time leading financial donor to The Alpha Phi Delta Foundation.

Natalie Reizine

Natalie attends the Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago. She was graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a double major in Biology and History where she attained a GPA of 3.80. She is a well rounded individual who has interned at a museum in Paris, where she became proficient in French, performed in Community Theater for the last twelve years, and conducted research on muscle degeneration at the University of Pittsburgh. Natalie has vowed to use her experiences dealing with her late father's illness to make her a better physician. Her application is enthusiastically supported by her uncle, Florida area alumnus, Jack Consiglio.

Stanley Raffa Award ($2,000) - Established by the 30th National President Stanley Raffa. Stanley held virtually every top position in the Alpha Phi Delta world including National President, Vice President, Secretary, Kleos Editor and Scholarship Chairman.

4.0 Grade Point Average at Penn State University where he majors in Bioengineering. He plans on attending medical school upon graduation. He is the son of Psi Alumnus Mark Belsky.

Brooklyn Alumni Club Award ($1,500) - The award of the Brooklyn Alumni Club.

Noel Sme

She attained a 3.79 Grade Point Average at Roger Williams University where she earned a degree in Marine Biology. Her Biology professor has used her Honor Thesis, based on DNA bar-coding of fish eggs and larvae to document species identity at professional conferences causing the audience to be taken aback by the sophistication of the work of an undergraduate student. She will be pursuing a Masters Degree at the University of Alaska this year where she will be continuing her molecular focused research. Noel is the daughter of former National Secretary and Third District Governor Ron Sme.

 

The Ernest Coletti Award ($1,500) - Established by the Mohawk Valley Alumni Club in honor of long time Utica District Governor Ernest Coletti. Brother Coletti passed away in 2003 and made an additional gift of $10,000 to the Scholarship Fund.

3.73 Grade Point Average at Niagara University where she is a History major. Gina is the niece of Pittsburgh Alumni Club member Rocco Muffi.

 

Pittsburgh Alumni Club Award ($1,500) - The award of the Pittsburgh Alumni Club.

Thomas Clarke

3.94 Grade Point Average at Penn State University where he is majoring in Integrated Science and is seeking an MBA degree. Thomas served on the finance committee for the Penn State Panhellenic Dance Marathon which raised in excess of nine million dollars to fight pediatric cancer. During college spring break he has traveled to Nicaragua with the Bridges to Community program which builds houses for impoverished local residents. His application was enthusiastically supported by his grandfather Past National President A. Joseph Creston. Thomas mother Linda Clarke was one of the first scholarship winners over thirty years ago.

 

Long Island Alumni Club John Pasta Award ($1,250) - Established by the Long Island Alumni Club in honor of the 7th Grand Consul John Pasta who led the fraternity from 1924 through 1926. He was a member of Eta Chapter and a graduate of The Columbia University School of Law.

3.97 Grade Point Average at Fairfield University where he is a History major. Vincent is the son of Manhattan College alumnus James Romano.

Lillian Anastasio Scholarship ($1,000) - Established by her son, Theta Beta alumnus Neil Anastasio who served as Kleos Editor and Vice President for Good and Welfare.

Taylor Picillo

3.70 Grade Point Average at Rutgers University where he is majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. His mother is disabled by illness and his family has incurred catastrophic medical expenses in recent years. His application is enthusiastically endorsed by his grandfather New York University alumnus Frank Leanza who has been a brother for nearly seventy years.

3.73 Grade Point Average at New York University Stern School of Business where he majors in Finance and Accounting. He is the President and founder of the new Theta Beta Colony and the President of the Commuter Student Council. Anthony is also a member of the Student Life Committee and Student Budget Allocation Committee.

Brother Camillus Casey Award ($1,000) - Established in honor of beloved former National Chaplain Brother Camillus Casey after his death by his many friends and students. Brother Camillus joined the fraternity while a faculty member of St. Francis College in Brooklyn as a founding member of Beta Sigma Chapter.

3.78 Grade Point Average at Pace University where he is studying Finance. Brian is a member of Gamma Iota Chapter.

 

John J. Hadgkiss Centennial Scholarship ($1,000) - Funded by the first Centennial gift pledge - a commitment to donate every year through the 2014 Centennial celebration - by Beta Rho alumnus John Hadgkiss, who has served Alpha Phi Delta in many positions including Scholarship Trustee and Foundation Executive Director.

Jameyan Miller

4.0 Grade Point Average at Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she is completing her graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is the daughter of Midwest District Governor James Miller.

 

Felix Infausto Scholarship ($1,000) - Established by his widow Clara Infausto in her will. Felix Infausto was inducted into Epsilon Chapter in 1929. He was a national leader in the enactment of interstate laws to protect children during his long legal career with the New York State Department of Social Services. Mrs. Infausto's gift establishing this scholarship is the largest single donation in the history of Alpha Phi Delta Scholarship.

3.62 grade Point Average at Georgian Court University where she is studying Psychology. Mary is the daughter of Beta Phi alumnus Anthony Castellano.

 

New York Alumni Club Award honoring Albert Palazzo ($1,000) - The award of the New York Alumni Club.

Kyle Sheerin

3.90 Grade Point Average at Duquesne University where he is pursuing a nursing degree. Kyle is the President of Psi Chapter.

 

Richard Rau Scholarship Award ($1,000) - Established in honor of the late Richard Rau who died while attending St. Francis College by his fraternity brothers from Beta Sigma Chapter.

3.81 Grade Point Average at La Salle University where he is a Criminal Justice major and a member of Epsilon Beta Chapter.

 

Paul J Sciullo II Memorial Award ($1,000) - An American hero, brother Paul was killed in the line of duty on April 4, 2009 after only two years on the City of Pittsburgh Police Force. He played varsity hockey and golf at Duquesne where he was a member of Psi Chapter. Paul became a police officer at age 35 telling his mother he was leaving more lucrative employment in the private sector, because he wanted to make a difference. Alpha Phi Delta is honored to be forever associated with his memory through this scholarship.

Angela Russo

Angela attained a 3.86 Grade Point Average at The University of Pittsburgh where she received her undergraduate degree in Communication Science. She is pursuing her Doctorate at the University in Audiology this year. Angela is the daughter of Kleos Editor John Russo.

The Pittsburgh Ladies Auxiliary of Alpha Phi Delta Alumni Award ($500).

Jessica Steiner

3.71 Grade Point Average in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She is the granddaughter of Psi alumnus Anthony Iole.

 

Russo Family Scholarship ($500).

Brothers John (Psi 1972) and Paul (Beta Omicron 1988) Russo and their families honor the memory of their parents, Anthony and Marie Russo. John has served the fraternity as Kleos Editor among other positions, and Paul is a past district governor. John's three daughters have been recipients of Alpha Phi Delta scholarship awards and would like to pay it forward for others to receive assistance for college. Anthony and Marie instilled in John and Paul a strong Italian heritage and a desire to achieve a college education.

3.49 Grade Point Average at Marist College where he is a member of Delta Theta Chapter. Marc is an Accounting major and the son of Theta Beta alumnus Michael Iacovelli.

Alpha Phi Delta Resort Association of New York Award ($500) - Established by brothers who had originally collected funds to build a fraternity owned resort facility in the Catskill region of New York State where many National Conventions were held.

3.54 Grade Point Average at Baruch College where he is Finance major. He is a member of Gamma Rho chapter where he has served as Social Chairman, Rush Chairman and Philanthropic Chairman.

 

Frank Cavallaro Award ($500) - Established in honor of the 22nd National President and long time expansion chairman Frank Cavallaro.

3.16 Grade Point Average at St Joseph's College. He is a member of the founding colony at St Joseph's. Benedict is pursuing a doctorate in education at Dowling College.

Adam DiVincenzo Award ($500) - Established in honor of the 21st Grand Consul and long time National Secretary. Adam will always be remembered by his many friends as "Mr. Alpha Phi Delta".

3.78 Grade Point Average at the College of Staten Island of The City University of New York where he is a Business major. He is the brother of Beta Omega Chapter alumnus Kenneth Foreman.

 

Eta Chapter Memorial Scholarship/Armand DeRosa Award ($500) - Established with funds donated by the alumni of Eta Chapter from City College of the City University of New York and a donation from long time Third District Governor Armand DeRosa.

2.95 Grade Point Average at Cornell University where he is majoring in Hotel Administration. Arthur is the President of the reactivated Mu Chapter at Cornell. He is a third generation Alpha Phi Delta member the son of Beta Xi alumnus Arthur Pizza, and the grandson of Past National President Albert Palazzo.

 

Fabrizio Family Award ($500) - Established by Paul Fabrizio and family. Paul is a scholarship trustee and has held many positions in Alpha Phi Delta.

Izzo Family Scholarship ($500) - created by a gift from Carl P. Izzo Sr. Carl's late father, Albert Izzo was a founding member of Pi Chapter, his late son Carl P. Izzo Jr. was a member of Chi Chapter.

3.22 Grade Point Average at Marist College where he is Finance and Public Administration major. He has served as Vice President of Delta Theta Chapter.

 

Louis J. Mauriello Award ($500) - Established by his family in 2006 shortly after his death. Brother Mauriello was inducted into Eta Chapter at The City College of New York in 1934.

3.59 Grade Point Average at Fordham University where she is a Criminal Justice major. Amanda is the sister-in-law of National President Nicholas Franki.

3.55 Grade Point Average at Ramapo College where he is a Business Administration and Management major. Christopher has served as chapter President at Gamma Pi Chapter.

3.69 Grade Point Average at George Washington University where she is a History major. She is the granddaughter of Beta Beta alumnus Gasper Tiranno.

 

North Jersey Alumni Club Award ($500) - Established in honor of Americo Faruolo a founding member of Beta Xi Chapter and the North Jersey Alumni Club.

4.0 Grade Point Average at Columbia Southern University where he is pursuing his doctorate in Business Administration. Raymond is an alumnus of William Paterson College. He is a past District Governor.

 

Panella Family Scholarship ($500) - Established by Brother Leon Panella and family. Leon is a scholarship trustee and served as a Foundation Director for many years.

Matthew Silva

3.5 Grade Point Average at Duquesne University where he is a member of Psi Chapter majoring in Supply Chain and Information Systems Management. Matthew is a member of the Duquesne Track and Field Team. He was a member of the 4 x 100 Meter Relay team which set a new school record this year.

 

Robert L. Polito Beta Rho Memorial Award ($500) - An exceptional athlete, teacher, principal, coach, athletic director and an inspirational leader to his fraternity brothers, students, players and colleagues, who passed away at age 46 in 1993. Honored many times in life and after his death Alpha Phi Delta is honored to memorialize him with this scholarship established by his pledge brothers.

3.65 Grade Point Average at Florida Atlantic University where he is an Accounting major. His Grandfather Ralph La Civita and Uncles John Roncone and Stephen LaCivita are all alumni of Beta Omicron Chapter at Youngstown State University.

3.55 Grade Point Average at St Joseph's College where he is majoring in History and Secondary Education. He has served as Vice President of his chapter at St Joseph's.

Rocco A. Sutera Scholarship ($500) - created by a gift in the Will of Beta Eta alumnus Rocco Sutera. Brother Rocco served as Chairman of the Long Island Alumni Club John Pasta Award prior to its merger with the National Scholarship Fund.

Youngstown Alumni Club Donald Red Nolfi Award ($500) - Established by the Youngstown Alumni Club in honor of Red Nolfi, the first Beta Omicron Chapter President and a guiding force for area alumni.

Dylan Thomas

3.36 Grade Point Average at Youngstown State University where he is Biology major and a pre-med student. Dylan has served as the Fundraising and Philanthropy Chairman and President of Beta Omicron Chapter and IFC Vice President. He is the son of Youngstown Alumni Club President Danny Thomas, Jr.
